Laptop/Desktop

Windows 7

  1. Click START and open Control Panel.
  2. Then click on Network and Internet
  3. Click on Network and Sharing Center
  4. Click on Change adapter settings
  5. Depending on how your computer is connected to the Internet double click either Local Area Connection or Wireless Network Connection.
  6. Click properties
  7. Double click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
  8. In the General tab click on Use the following DNS server addresses.
  9. Preferred DNS [sign-up to get this number] and Alternate blank
  10. Make sure Validate settings upon exit is checked (if present)
  11. Click ok
  12. Windows Network Diagnostics will start and run for a little while , just let it run
  13. Once the diagnostics have run click on close
  14. Restart your computer
  15. Go to www.ipinfo.io and confirm your IP address is set to [sign-up to get this number]

Windows 8/8.1

  1. Click START and open Control Panel.
  2. Then click on Network and Internet
  3. Click on Network and Sharing Center
  4. Click on Change adapter settings
  5. Depending on how your computer is connected to the Internet double click either Local Area Connection or Wireless Network Connection.

Windows 11

  1. First click the search bar and type Settings and click Settings from the search results
  2. Then click on Network and Internet
  3. Click on Network and Sharing Center
  4. Click on Advanced network settings (scroll down to see it)
  5. Depending on how your computer is connected to the Internet double click either Local Area Connection or Wi-Fi. More options will display
  6. Click view additional properties
  7. Under DNS server assignment click EDIT
  8. Change from Automatic (DHCP) to Manual
  9. Turn on the switch for IPv4
  10. Preferred DNS [sign-up to get this number] and Alternate DNS blank
  11. Click Save
  12. If you have any issues go back and set it back to Automatic (DHCP)

Mac OSX

  1. Open up System Preferences and find Network under Internet & Wireless
  2. Then select either Wi-Fi or Ethernet depending on the method you use to connect to the Internet.
  3. Once selected click the advanced button on the lower right hand side
  4. Then select DNS
  5. Click the small plus on the lower left hand side
  6. Use the following DNS server [sign-up to get this number]
  7. Secondary blank
  8. Click OK
  9. Then click Apply
  10. Restart your Mac

Chromebook

    1. Click on the clock icon in the corner of your screen
    2. Then select and click on Settings
    3. Select your network (Ethernet or Wi-Fi network)
    4. Click on the Custom name servers and enter [sign-up to get this number] and Server 2 as [sign-up to get this number]

Now click close and it will start using your new VIP DNS!

Note: Remember, if your IP address changes you must visit www.vipdnsclub.com/my-account to verify your new IP address at the click of a button (red bar up the top) and everything will work again.
